7 Day Itinerary in Armacao de Pera
Edit ThisThis Armacao de Pera itinerary takes visitors through the diverse highlights of the once-sleepy fishing village and its surrounding environment. Rent a car, settle in, and get ready for 7 days of relaxation, shopping, swimming and nightlife.
Day One: Visit Praia dos Pescadores
Get settled into your hotel and then head out to the city's main beach - Praia dos Pescadores, the Fisherman's beach. This beach is close to town and perfect after a full day of traveling. Relax and enjoy a quiet dinner and drinks at a neighboring restaurant or cafe.
Day Two: Explore Other BeachesHead to any of the area's other fine beaches. There are many to choose from - Praia de Rocha, Praia do Benagil or Praia Grande - and all offer diverse activities and atmospheres. Try water sports at Praia de Rocha, enjoy the "secret" feel of Praia do Benagil, or cruise the tourist hot spot - Praia da Rocha. Enjoy meals and drinks right near the beach in the many restaurants and cafes adjacent to them.
Day Three: Travel to AlbufieraHead to neighboring Albufiera and check out the Zoomarine Park where you can see dolphin shows, underwater ecosystems and other marine activities. Spend the day there exploring the city and enjoy lunch and dinner there.
Day Four: Explore Para and Porches
Head to the markets and shopping centers in Para and Porches to shop for crafts and pottery. If you still need more shopping, stop in Algoz or Loule for open air markets. On the way, take a break in Guia for a trip to Vida Nova winery to sample the wines and tour the winery.
Day Five: Visit Silves
Explore some of the best historical landmarks from the entire
Algarve. Be sure to check out Silves Castle and the Cathedral of Silves.
The castle is thought to be built in the 8th century and is an
interesting look at the area from a historical perspective. Take a
walking tour of the city.
Head to any number of the beaches you have yet to explore. Check out
the west end if you haven't been there already to view the strange rock
formations along the beach and take some photos. Try another water sport
or just relax on the beach.
Head to the beach for sunrise if you have a midday flight to get one last look at the beautiful sand and water. If you will be leaving later in the day, enjoy a breakfast in one of the cafes along the beach and then walk the Fisherman's beach one last time before heading home.
