Edit ThisLow Cost Airlines
There are several low cost airlines that operate regular flights to Faro from several European countries. Airlines such as Ryanair, Aer Lingus, Air Berlin, Monarch Airlines, Arkefly, Brussels Airlines and many more offer regular flights to and from Faro every day. Check with the airline office and compare rates before purchasing a ticket.
Accommodations
Accommodations are never a problem in Faro, you can choose from a variety of accommodations according to your budget. Faro has several budget hotels in the main commercial area, including some beautiful small country hotels. Stay at one of the small country hotels just 15 minutes away from the airport. These hotels offer clean accommodation and have good restaurants where you can pick up something to eat.
Transportation
Make use of the public transport system in Faro if you like to save on transportation costs. The train and bus will get you to most places and are not too expensive. You can also get a bicycle and cycle around the city; this in fact is a great way to explore the city on your own pace.
Shopping
There are several shopping malls in Faro, most being in the Faro and Algarve region. If you are looking for some good bargains, take a trip down to the “Forum Algarve,”a large shopping mall situated close to the airport. The Forum Algarve is an open-air mall where you can pick up a variety of items; however, food and drinks are the main focus of the mall. You can pick up some clothes here at very good prices.
Albufuria
Located about 30 minutes from the center of Faro, this is where you can really enjoy budget nightlife. The place is filled with bars, cafés and discos. You will be able to pick up any kind of food you want to eat here, and the price is not expensive. So take a trip down to Albufuria and you will spend less than half of what you would spend at other nightlife venues in the city.
