It is famous for the steam locomotive depot which is working all year round. It's the only place in Poland where you can travel by steam train, paying a normal ticket! (routes: Poznań-Wolsztyn, Wolsztyn-Leszno, Wolsztyn-Zbaszynek) Another attraction is the open-air museum of old country housing. Wolsztyn is famous also for being the place where the famous scientist Robert Koch did his pioneering research into the anthrax bacillus, proving for the first time that this organism was the cause of the disease.
