Day Trips Intro in Krakow
Edit ThisKrakow day trips are recommended to every visitor who comes to Krakow—one of Poland’s most legendary cities. Krakow presents many day trip options, ranging from indulging in adventure sports to exploring the wonders of its natural landscape. Visitors should include the following as a part of their Krakow day trips:
Visit Salt Mines and Schindler’s Factory
Just about 15 km to the eastern border of Krakow lies one of its most enchanting offerings—the underground Salt Mines. These cave-like structures are now accessible, courtesy of the tour-guides. The Salt Mines encompass many cavern-like structures, adorned with exotic, naturally-sculpted figures. There is also a chapel made of salt. The factory shown in the Hollywood blockbuster, ‘The Schindler's List’, is located on the outskirts of Krakow. This is where a significant portion of the movie was filmed. This factory can be visited when returning from the Salt Mines.
Visit Ojcow National Park
The Ojcow National Park is located on the northern border of Krakow, near Malopolskie, in Voivodeship. It is easily accessible via a cab-ride, being quite near the Czestochowa-Cracow highway. There are more than a 1,000 species of plants on display here. Further, visitors can spend some time visiting the historic monuments inside the park. This includes the ruins of many gothic castles, including the renaissance-era castle of Pieskowa SkaaÅa.
Indulge in White Water Rafting
Visitors should definitely try white-water rafting while in Krakow. Poland is home to some of the most renowned rafting sites in the world and Krakow is among them. Visitors can feel assured about a safe rafting experience in the company of instructors. Visitors can also enroll in short-term courses to learn rafting or deep-sea diving.
