Beaches in Norway

Storøy Headland Beach- Bærum
This is a humble swimming spot situated in Storøy Odden in Bærum. The Storøy Headland Beach features four volleyball courts, small kiosks, chairs and tables. Storøy is near the Big Island Nature Reserve and also features a boating area. In the summer of 2009, Storøy received the Blue Flag Certificate, which is an exclusive international award given to beaches and marinas with high standards of services and environmental safety.
Orrestranda Beach-Stavanger
This is the longest sandy beach and one of the best beaches in Norway. Orrestranda Beach is located across Orre Park in Klepp, Jæren. Just like most of the Norwegian beaches, Orrestranda Beach is a clothes-optional beach. The beach has strong undercurrent waves which are great for surfing. There is also one part of the beach that is kid-friendly and safe. This beach is the venue for the World Tour Beach Volleyball which is an annual tournament. Orrestranda Beach is also a great venue for flying kites and kite surfing.
Hamresanden- Kristiansand
Hamresanden is one of the biggest and most famous beaches in Kristiansand. This magnificent white sand beach is a great spot to enjoy a day with your family. You can lie on the sand and get a good tan or you can enjoy a good swim in clear water. Just across the beach there is a supermarket where you can buy your basic picnic and camping necessities. The Hamresanden Beach is also one of the recipients of the Blue Flag certification.
Huk Beach – Oslo
This is one of the most popular beaches in Norway. Huk Beach is located in Bygdøy Peninsula in Oslo. There are actually two sections at this beach--a nude section and a clothed section. The beach is a perfect place to soak under the summer sun and to enjoy the crystal blue waters. You can also play volleyball, stroll and go on a bicycle trip to explore this wonderful beach. When hunger strikes you, there are several food stalls and restaurants available where you can enjoy a good meal.
Kollevågen Beach- Western Norway
This is another pristine clothing-optional beach in Norway. Kollevågen Beach is located on Askoy Island which is in the northern district of Bergen. This beach features white sand, clear turquoise waters and beautiful greenery. Kollevågen also serves as a great venue for special events and parties like the Lost Weekend Music Festival every August.
