Havana Cafe

Havana does Salsa matinees on sundays that cost 10 guilders for two lessons. Veronique : Zonadmiddag kun je hier een workshop volgen, 's avonds lekker swingen! : Dit café is een erg druk bezocht en heeft goeie swingend de muziek. Wednesday Night Jazz Club

Every Wednesday night the crème de la crème of the Dutch Jazz scene play at club, Danzig, in The Hague, hosted by acoustic bass player, René van Beeck.

The jazz evening starts at 9 pm with a performance by well-known Dutch jazz musicians in a variety of formations. It’s followed by an organised jam session, flavoured with surprising grooves.

Entrance is free.

Danzig serves tasty and affordable 3 course menu for only € 12,50 or a platter of the day for € 6,50 starting at 18.00 hrs.

If you like big and stylish, Dudoc is the place to be.  It's got a terrace at the back side. Food is served all day. Try the home made pastries, they are delicous!

There are a lot of coffee shops in the Hague, they're just a bit more tucked away than in the 'Dam, the Hague being a more restrained, civilised kind of a place. Please forgive lack of names, I wasn't paying enough attention: you'll know them when you see them. Here's a few I saw/entered:

One on Hooikade, The Crow I think, just off Dr Kuyperstraat, very friendly, nice people. Soft drinks (juices etc), beer I think, but most importantly very nice smoke available: limited range but quality throughout. Beware of the V8...

Pijpenla

The Pijpenla is not your average hang-out. Since it is the only place in The Hague that's open late it attracts a different kind of public. It's one of the few places where dancing is possible.

The best Jazz festival of the Netherlands. Every summer. : Een fantastisch festival wat jaarlijks gehouden wordt, dit jaar op 14, 15 en 16 juli. Het festival vindt plaats in het concert gebouw. Iedereen is in een top stemming en er komt een grote verscheidenheid aan artiesten.
