Noordpolderzijl in winter season viewed from the polder side

HollandTraveler

Noordpolderzijl was named after the sluice/zijl from 1811. This zijl was the connection between the innerwater level of the Noordpolder and the outher Wadden sea and can still be seen from the polder side. Then, in the second part of the 20th century, dikes were leveled up to new Dutch Delta-standards and the sluice lost its function in 1980, when a new pumping station was built.
