Beaches in HaarlemEdit This
Zandvoort Beach is situated to the west of Haarlem. The sand stretches for 9 km. Zandvoort is a popular family beach and there are many resorts in the area. The beach is easy to access and can be reached by train, car or bus. There are parking facilities but the beach is often crowded and it may be difficult to find parking during peak times. An alternative is to ride your bicycle to the beach. This will save you the hassle of finding parking and it is also a good way to enjoy the surrounding scenery. The ocean is part of the North Sea and it can be cold for swimming; however, the water warms up slightly during summer months. Located along the beach are pavilions as well as an abundance of tourist facilities such as restaurants and sunbeds. The restaurants sell delicious local cuisine. There are many bars to enjoy a refreshing drink after a day in the sun. Vendors sell ice cream in an assortment of flavors. Nearby attractions include a casino. A promenade provides a lovely area to go for a stroll and explore your surroundings. Beautiful sunsets can be enjoyed from this beach.
Bloemendaal Beach can be reached by bus or car. It is located next to Zandvoort Beach and it is approximately 10 minutes from Haarlem. The sandy beach stretches for miles. It offers a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.This beach is popular among locals and tourists. The beach is suitable for activities such as kite surfing. Bloemendaal is well known for its parties and vibrant atmosphere. There are many beach parties organized in the area, drawing crowds of party lovers. Beach clubs organize activities and sports. At the end of the beach is a national park with beautiful scenery along the sand dunes. There are hiking and cycling paths through the park and tours are offered. The entrance is 15 minutes by foot from the beach. Other sites in the vicinity of the beach include gardens, golf courses and statues.
