7 Day Itinerary in Haarlem
Edit ThisIt can be a pleasurable and helpful experience when you consider a 7-day Haarlem Itinerary. It allows you to see the interesting activities and attractions in Haarlem while at the same time getting a sense of what you want to do. Since Haarlem is a town full of fun attractions like museums, cafes and shops you get to pick and choose what you think is most important. Our Haarlem itinerary will help you gauge your time spent here in the beautiful Old Dutch Town.
Day 1 - Tour the Town
Today is going to be spent checking out what the town of Haarlem has to offer in your immediate vicinity. Take a long casual walk along the streets and venues of the Grote Markt. Gaze at all the Old Dutch style buildings and the magnificence of them. Stop in at 1 or 2 of the cafes like the famous Studio 1990 or In Den Uiver and taste the remarkable beers.
Day 2 - Teylers Museum
On this day you will get to see why all the tourists rave about the highly acclaimed Teylers Museum. There are all kinds of exhibits here for you to peruse such as paintings, drawings, coins, fossils and minerals. Check and see if this is one of the days that they have open for an instruction group. If they do have one, participate in it. Tonight you will have fun at the Kokonoches Cafe. Dance the night away or just relax with a drink and enjoy the salsa music.
Day 3 - Windmills and Cinemas
Walk over to one of the most stunning buildings here in Haarlem, the Windmill de Adriaan. You can learn all about the functions of windmills and what specific utilities Adriaan was responsible for. After touring the windmill, go over to Jacobus Pieck for a deli diner and have a delicious Dutch sandwich. This evening go see a movie at the Cinema Palace, located right in the heart of the main square.
Day 4 - Amsterdam
Today we will travel out of the city and spend the day in Amsterdam. Enjoy the countryside as you go by train to Amsterdam. While in Amsterdam take a trip by boat around the Amsterdam canal ring. Make time to go see the world’s acclaimed Van Gogh museum.
Day 5 - Bike the Countryside
Find Pieter’s’ Fietsenstalling Station, a bike shop at the train station, and rent a bike for a few days. The city has many bike routes that will be biker-friendly and will allow you to see some appealing structures. In the early evening return and eat out at a restaurant you found appealing. Later this night is a time for partying. Indulge in some jazz or r&b at Stiels while you go and make some new friends.
Day 6 - Museums and Music
There are still so many special sights to see, so go and call on the famous house of Corrie ten Boom. And check out the Frank Hals painting museum. This night is also a special night to experience some Dutch style rock and roll music. Enter the Patronatt, a music bar, and enjoy the evening.
Day 7 - Enjoy the Day
This last day is another day of fun bike riding, so check out the bike paths that lead to the Elswout, a beautiful forest. You can make a day just being entertained by the beauty of the forest. There are many bike paths throughout the forest. At nighttime hang around your favorite café or restaurant that you liked.
