Senior Travel in Groningen
Edit ThisFun-Filled Senior Travel in Groningen
Even a young town like Groningen can be just as fulfilling and beautiful for Groningen senior travel. Although this town, mainly a university town, is full of young people, it is nevertheless friendly to anyone who visits the town. The canals are a great way to relax and sightseeing is a pleasant mix.
Relax in the Cafés
The cafés are a great way to absorb some culture in this city. Groningen has plenty of quaint and affordable cafes to hang out in, appropriate for their main university customers. Pubs and cafes usually offer outdoor seating or a back garden for basking. Groningen, like the rest of the Dutch people, like their food light. Always, constant dishes are vegetables, salads, bread and potatoes. You might want to try cafés like Eeterie de Globe, PUUR!, Ugly Duck, Eetcafe ‘t Koetshuys, Humphrey’s and Spring’s.
Visit the Groningen Museum
This place is an impressive one-stop shop for contemporary art. First, its exterior is impressive, like a floating structure in Groningen’s canal. It adheres to a radical modernist design put together by three different architects, although originally the museum director asked non-architects design it to make it as extravagant as possible. Every year, the museum increases its collection of local and international visual art mostly dominated by modern and abstract works. It starts with an exhibition from Ilya Repin to Asian ceramics and moves to German Expressionism.
