Sights in Eindhoven

Edit This

Attractions in the Netherlands are especially interesting when considering Eindhoven Sights. Intro into these few sights is just a taste of what the city has to offer.

The Van Abbemusuem

The Van Abbemusuem is the only museum in the Netherlands to focus primarily on contemporary and modern art from the 20th and 21 centuries. Since its opening in the 1930s, the museum has acquired over 2,700 pieces of art. The Van Abbemusuem has an international outlook on the pieces that come into the museum, but a large portion of its collections are from American and European artists. Aside from having an impressive El Lissitzky collection, the museum also showcases work from the likes of Picasso, Beuys, Gordon, and McCarthy. The Van Abbemusuem is just a joy to explore. Each corner presents something completely unique and inspirational, which is exactly the mission of the museum. In addition to the the thought-provoking exhibits, there is a peaceful cafe and gift shop on-site. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Thursday the museum is open until 9:00 p.m. Admission is 9 Euros per person.

De Tongelreep Swimming Paradise

De Tongelreep Swimming Paradise is much more than a swimming pool. It is water park fit for any type of traveler. In addition to 165-foot indoor swimming pool there are several water slides, a wave pool, whirlpools, and an outdoor pool with an area for sunbathing. Herbal and steam baths are also an added convenience at De Tongelreep Swimming Paradise. The outdoor section of this attraction, however, is only open from May until August. The rest of the complex is open year-round whatever state the weather is outside. Children will absolutely adore De Tongelreep Swimming Paradise and parents will love the fact that kids under 4 years-old are free. Admission for adults is roughly $11 per person. The swimming complex is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Saturday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Families will find this attraction particularly exciting.

Centrum Kunstlicht in de Kunst

The Centrum Kunstlicht in de Kunst showcases modern art in a surprising manner. Each piece of art at the museum, including paintings and sculptures, displays artificial light in some form. It's located in the historic first Philips light factory, which is also centralized on artificial lights. Exhibitions composed mostly of outside work are organized several times a year at the museum. The attraction, which is a popular part of Eindhoven, is dedicated to presenting seemingly ordinary objects in a new way. Visitors will surely leave this interesting museum with a new sense of what art may or may not be. Centrum Kunstlicht in de Kunst is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is about $6 per person.
