Festivals in Eindhoven

Eindhoven Carnival
Eindhoven Carnival, with its colorful processions, is a special time in the month of February. A lot of parties are held by people where they carry their own food and drinks. People celebrate by wearing outlandish costumes and dance to loud music. There is a vibrant and youthful feeling of bonhomie, and good spirits is prevalent.
Queen's Day
Koninginnedag, or Queen's Day, is celebrated April 29 or April 30. It celebrates the birthday of the Queen of Netherlands. This is a day of national solidarity where people get together. This day the people can sell items in the streets. A lot of street festivals are held, giving people an opportunity to enjoy themselves.
Fiesta Del Sol
Fiesta Del Sol is a 3-day music and theatre event held in the month of June. Tourists from all over Europe come to attend the concerts. International music bands as well as local singers take part in this festival. More than 200,000 people have been known to attend this event.
Marathon Eindhoven
Marathon Eindhoven is the eighth biggest marathon in the world. It is one of the major and the most attractive events in the Netherlands where people jog and run. It hosts more than 150,000 people each year.
Dutch Design Week
Dutch Design Week is an international industrial event held for the duration of 1 week during October at multiple venues in Eindhoven. This festival is hosted by Philips and DAF whose headquarters are in Eindhoven. The event encourages innovation in industrial design. Eindhoven has a goal of becoming the national design capital.
Glow: Nederlandse Licht Festival (Dutch Light Festival)
Glow, a forum of light and architecture, is an international 9-day-festival of light held in the month of November in which public spaces are adorned by an exhibition of art and design installations.
Other Festivals
Other notable events in Eindhoven include the funfair of Park Hilaria, the folk festival known as Folkwoods and the live music at the Reggae Sundance.
