Eindhoven, a city filled with culture and color, has many things to offer local residents and tourists. Being the fifth largest city in Netherlands and recognized as the city of light, Eindhoven is an emerging tourist destination surrounded by parks, recreational areas, shopping malls and museums. Despite busy business activities over the week, this city is a perfect getaway for most tourists. The Eindhoven itinerary gives tourists a well-planned travel schedule for 7 days in this vibrant city.  

Day One: Genneper Park

There are several tourist attractions in Eindhoven especially within the Genneper Park, which includes the breathtaking De Tongelreep Swimming Paradise, waterfront cycle trails and a working water-powered flourmill. Next, stroll around parts of the new town region to catch glimpses of futuristic modern architecture on every corner, which includes an exhibition center and a state of the art conference center.

Day Two : Blast from the Past

The best way to know more about the culture of Eindhoven is by visiting some museums located within the city. Visit the Van Abbemuseum and you will see a wide number of displays that vary from past relics to pieces of modern art. Automobile lovers can also visit the DAF Museum. This museum houses over 120 types of historical automobiles.

Day Three: Factory Tour and Greek cusine

The Phillips incandescent Lamp Factory is also worth a visit. You can visit the factory by participating in a guided day tour that can be taken from Tuesday to Sunday. Eindhoven is famous for its outstanding cuisine and a variety of international delicacies. Visitors will find many international restaurants and dining places that serve exquisite food and drinks. Known for its flavorsome buffet and wonderful ambiance, the Oriental Greenhouse is definitely worth a visit. If you are looking for traditional Geek delicacies, visit the Athene Greek Restaurant. Their menu lists meat dishes, salads and an array of drinks, served by an efficient Greek staff.

Day Four: Artificial Light in the Art Centre

Make a memorable trip to the Artificial Light in the Art Centre. Many people often visit this place because of the Kunstlicht in de Kunst, which is a compilation of both paintings and sculptures, whose beauty is accentuated by dazzling artificial light effects.

Day Five: Shopping

If you are looking for an awesome shopping experience, head to De Heuvel Galerie. It is a covered indoor mall and one of the main shopping centers in Eindhoven. You can also visit the Piazza Centre shopping mall. They have a large number of department stores, boutiques and music stores along with a sprawling food court.

Day Six: Sports Mania

Tourists will have a nice time at the ultra-modern Phillips Stadium for sports and recreation. Everybody can participate in the annual marathon, horse show, swimming and other top events in the indoor sports center. On other days, one can take a tour of the facilities and indulge in indoor sports attractions.

Day Seven: Spa

 Take the day off from sightseeing and activities to relax and unwind at the famous Romantischer Winkel Spa and Wellness Center. They offer a complete package of relaxation services, which makes visitors feel truly refreshed.

Eindhoven is an off beat vacation destination that has yet to be explored and promises plenty of memorable moments with its natural trails, historical monuments, avant garde art galleries and shopping centers.
