Following are some of the best Breda sights tourists must visit while they are in the city.
Breda Castle
The Breda Castle or Kasteel van Breda as it is also known is one of the most popular attractions in the city. It is located in the city center on Kasteelplein, near the city park Valkenberg. It was built in the 12 th century and served as a home to the Royal family for many centuries. From the 19 th century, the castle was used by the Royal Military Academy (KMA). Although several renovations have been made to the Breda Castle, it has retained its majestic presence in the city. Tourists can take a tour of the castle for more detailed information.
Grote Kerk
Located at Kerkplein, the Grote Kerk is another popular attraction in Breda . Also known as Church of Our Lady , this is a 15 th century building that has a rich history. It has a remarkable Brabantine Gothic architecture and a tower that measures about 97 meters. Inside the church are valuable murals and monuments that make it an important monument in the city. Visitors should especially see the Prinsenkapel or Chapel of the Prince. This section has a ceiling with gold leaves and is the burial place of ancestors from the Dutch Royal House of Orange.
Breda Museum
Another attraction tourists in the city must visit is the Breda Museum. Situated at Parade 12/14, this museum has made its home in the Chassekazerne, the 100 year old barracks. The Breda Museum is very interesting and has two permanent historical exhibitions. These include Eyewitnesses and Mirrors of time. There is also a permanent art exhibition in the museum, called Eye Catchers. The Breda Museum added another exhibition for children recently. Besides these, there are temporary exhibitions based on various themes that the museum organizes. The entire museum is spread across two floors and also includes a small café.
Children’s Farm De Zandberg
Tourists looking for an ideal activity for their children should make it a point to visit the Children’s Farm De Zandberg. Located in the middle of the Zandberg neighborhood, this farm can be accessed from the Grazendonkstraat or the Marijke Meustraat . The farm houses rabbits, sheep, chicken, turkey, goats, roosters and poultry. While children can interact and learn about these animals, older tourists can relax in the beautiful natural surroundings. The farm has a yearly celebration that includes games, lottery, music, puppet theatre and food and drinks.

Spanjaardsgat (Spaniards hole)
Edit ThisThe famous Spanjaardsgat a waterport is named after the Spaniards occupation. The gate is famous because of the list with the peat boat (trojan horse like) which led to the siege of Breda. The Spanjaardsgat is part of Breda's castle, which nowadays houses the Royal Military Academy.
