Senior Travel in Breda
Edit ThisIf you are planning Breda senior travel, reading some senior travel tips may be very useful to you. You will see that Breda has a very friendly environment to seniors.
Accommodations
The Golden Tulip hotel in Breda offers excellent accommodations for seniors. The hotel is very comfortable and rated with 4-stars. The price of $125 nightly (per 2 person) includes a healthy breakfast, with fresh fruits always available. The best thing for seniors is that the hotel is very quiet, and they can enjoy a calm atmosphere. Another plus is that the hotel is located right in the city center, close to all the local parks and museums.
Eating Out
All seniors should try out the Rhodos Restaurant on Veemarktstraat, right in the heart of Breda. Very close to the Golden Tulip hotel, this restaurant offers a charming atmosphere and a really pleasant experience. The place is very peaceful, so you can enjoy your meal undisturbed. Rhodos Restaurant specializes in Greek cuisine and its prices are in the $30 to $40 range.
Visiting the Museums
Breda is home to over 10 interesting museums. It’s worth visiting them, plus this is a nice way of spending your free time when in Breda. However, it is important to know that unlike many other places, the local museums do not make discounts for seniors, so you’ll have to pay like a regular visitor. Depending on the museum, prices are in range from $6 to $12 per person. An exception is the Beer Advertisement Museum, which is free, but not so interesting.
Walking in the Park
If you don’t want to spend money on museums, you can have a nice walk at one of the 3 lovely Breda parks. Each of them has its highlights. All the 3 parks have some beautiful ponds and trails. However, the Brabantpark pond is more special, as it is inhabited by a serious population of ducks. The Wilhelminapark is interesting for its Polish war memorial and for the real German Panther tank finding its place in the park. The Burg van Sonsbeeck Park impresses with the statue of William Sonsbeeck, who was a mayor of Breda in the 1930s.
Local Transportation
Seniors shouldn’t worry if they have to reach distant parts of the city. Breda has an excellent infrastructure and there are many taxis around, which are very accurate and reliable and will be able to take you to any point of the city.
