"The 'Pssst... Amigo' Mexican Restaurant is a great place you should visit if you're ever in the area and in need for a restaurant that offers everything. A great atmosphere, the friendliest of Staff, fast service and excellent, fresh, tasty, nicely presented authentic food.

The inside is a lot bigger than it first appears, there's a small outside eating area, too. Decoration is spot-on, very 'Mexican' and cosy, lots of little things dotted everywhere and colourful, too.

You'll have no problem with language barriers, menus are also available in English, and more..

Queen of Sheba

Nice Ethiopian restaurants. Finally a restaurant where you are allowed, even encouraged, to eat with your hands. Many vegetarian dishes as well (Orthodox ethiopians don't eat meat on wednesdays and fridays).

Good indian restaurant where you can get a decent meal for 10 EURO. Good option for vegetarians as well.

What's in a name? Probably the best known branch of Argentinian restaurants. Original music and a three-meal course for round and about 50 guilders.

Trocadero

Nicely located on the quiet Jansplein where you can have a good meal for an excellent prize and still be able to have a normal conversation with it (as opposed to most terraces on the Korenmarkt). Besides Mexican dishes also a very good rotating tapas plate according to the chef's choice which will undoubtedly be your choice as well.

Paromil

Good place for lunch and dinner. Besides Surinamese dishes also tasty dishes from the Antilles.

Enig Alternatief

Small and cozy vegetarian restaurant. It fills up fast so come early.
