Today the Waag (Weigh House) is a restaurant cum Cybercafe. The Weigh House at the Nieuwmarkt is the oldest secular public building in Amsterdam. It was designed as a city gate (Sint Antoniespoort, 1488) and as such it formed part of the medieval defences.
