Noordwijk
Edit ThisThe Noordwijk Beach is the home to sun, fun, golden sand, surfing of all kinds; especially kite surfing: The worlds number two kitesurfer calls Noordwijk home. The local surf clubs can teach you how to kitesurf or rent you all the surf gear you could ever want.
Noordwijk is also a party town, in season and out its easy to meet people and be merry in the local bars.
Its easy to stay out at the beach too, The Flying Pig Beach Hostel ( www.beachhostel.nl) is affordable and the perfect place to chill after some craziness in Amsterdam - not only do they have a happenin' surf bar but being right in the center of Noordwijk and less than a minute to the beach - perfect place to call base for the rest of the area, whether it be to see the beach itself, visit neighbouring city Leiden (where the weed is cheaper than Amsterdam, not to mention the historical and artistic signifigance of the city), massive multicloloured tulip fields nearby, bike rides through the dunes/country side/neighbouring towns, the options are only limited to your imagination. On top of all this if your staying at The Flying Pig Beach Hostel you can utilise the free pick up service from Amsterdam.
One of the best things about Noordwijk is how you can chill if you want but if you want, there is always a party somewhere, generally at the Pig, the towns only centrally located hostel.
