When to Go in Amersfoort
Edit ThisFine Weather in Amersfoort
If you are visiting Amersfoort, when to go is a decision you will need to make. It is a good idea to read some information on the climate in the summer and in the winter. This will surely make your decision easier. Here are a few ideas.
Summer
The summer is maybe the best time to visit Amersfoort, especially in the early months of May and June. At this time of the year the weather is warm, yet not too hot, with temperatures ranging from 18 to 23 degrees Celsius/65 to 75 degrees F and rainfall less than 7cm per month. However, the excellent weather is not the only reason to choose this time of the year to visit the city. Amersfoort hosts a wide variety of music events during these months, which are worth being attended. In addition, all the flowers are in their bloom and everything is covered with tulips, which create a truly magnificent sight.
Winter
Winter is a good season to visit the city, as long as you are familiar with the weather forecast. Winters are usually mild in the Netherlands, with temperatures above 0 degrees Celsius (about 2 to 6 degrees)/32 degrees F. However, since the Atlantic Ocean has a high influence on the local climate, some periods of the winter can be extremely cold, with some amounts of snow. That’s why you have to make sure it’s not going to be unusually cold in the forthcoming days. It is a good idea to pack some suitable clothes (like sweaters and a thick jacket) as it gets very breezy in the winter.
