Dormitor Travel Guide

Dormitor National park located in the north of Montenegro.

Situated about 80km north of the capital, Dormitor national park is located in Montenegro's ski resort.
There are a number of hotels in the area.

Dormitor itself is an outstanding park traversed by the Drina river which seperates Montenegro from it's Balkan neighbour through the Tara gorge.

Zabljak is located near the entrance to the park. Here there is some soviet style accommodations and a number of cheap cafés.

Once in the park, a good meal can be had at the restaurant housed in a log-hut overlooking the 'black-lake'.

There are many lakes and walks signposted.

It's advisable to supply your own map unless you have a good knowledge of cyrillic, you may find yourself getting lost.
There have been a number of deaths in the mountains due to adverse weather conditions.
 
Make sure you bring your camera. The scenery is second to none, surpassing anything else available in Montenegro.
