Budva Travel Guide

Budva is quite a popular resort town on the coast of Montenegro. It has good beaches, beautiful walking tracks and a little inviting island (Sveti Stefan) just down the coast. Although the town was struck seriously by an earthquake in 1979, its old city core from some 2500 years ago, remained fairly intact. At present, the old stage is still used for the annual summer theatre festival and because it became the biggest open-air festival in former Yuguslavia, the city is also better known as 'the theatre city of Budva'.
