1. Milestii Mici

Milestii Mici has been registered as the biggest wine collection in the world and is a must-visit for tourists in Chisinau. This wine complex houses around 2 million bottles of wine. Of these, 70% are said to be red wine, 20% white and the remaining 10% is dessert wines. The Milestii Mici wine cellar stretches for 250 km, but only 120 km is used. The different wines stored in this cellar have been made from crops from different years, starting with 1969.

2. National Archeology & History Museum

Another attraction tourists should visit in Chisinau is the National Archeology & History Museum. The museum has around 10 exhibition halls, of which 3 have domes and a diorama. There are about 300,000 items that display the culture and history of Moldova, right from ancient times till today. These include numismatic and archeological collections and collections of old or rare books, documents, photos, arms, military equipment, maps and much more. Some of the unique exhibits of the museum are Olanesti treasure from the 4th century B.C, a map of Moldova from 1781 and a Getae battle chariot from 4th or 5th century B.C. The museum is open to visitors from Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and entrance is about $2.

3. Pracul La Izvor

One of the best things for tourists to do in Chisinau is visiting the largest park in the city, Pracul La Izvor. The park has three interconnecting lakes that dominate the area. Visitors can explore these lakes by hiring canoes and boats. Visitors can also take a ride across the valley in cable cars as there is a cable station located in the southern end of the park. A cable car ride costs less than a dollar. Pracul La Izvor is located on the road to Ungheni and Cojusna on Calea Esilor.

4. Chisinau Ghetto Memorial

Tourists in Chisinau should also visit the Chisinau Ghetto Memorial which is located just north of the central bus station. This is a maze of dusty, run down streets and many of these make up the Chisinau Jewish Ghetto. Tourists can also find the Chisinau Ghetto Memorial on the street that goes east from B-dul Renasterii. This place has been dedicated to the victims and martyrs of the city’s ghetto that is inscribed in Russian, Moldovan and Hebrew.

5. National Ethnographic and Nature Museum

This is another interesting sight tourists must visit in Chisinau. The museum is known for its exhibits of the sciences of botany, geology and zoology. It also has a lot of pop art and stuffed animals. One of the most popular exhibits in this museum is the life size mammal skeleton that was discovered in 1966 in the Rezina area. The National Ethnographic and Nature Museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday. Admission rates are about $2 and a guided tour costs about $8.
