Festivals in Klaipeda

Klaipeda Music Spring
The Klaipeda Music Spring is a festival dedicated to the classical music in Lithuania. This festival takes place every year in the month of April starting from the 1st of April and ends on the 30th of April serenading the whole of Klaipeda with magnificent concerts. The event usually takes place in the Klaipeda Concert Hall. The festival is celebrated to welcome spring.
The Sea festival
The Sea festival is an annual event held at Klaipeda, the only Lithuanian seaport. During this festival, Lithuanians and visitors from all over the world visit Klaipeda and take part in the festivities. This festival was first held in 1934 during the last weekend of July as a purpose to make Klaipeda and Lithuania popular as a marine country. Years later this festival is still held every year on the last weekend of July in Klaipeda with the same fervor and in a much more organized manner. The Sea Festival has now become an event of national importance. During this festival, there are several water sport competitions are held accompanied with singing, dancing, processions and performances. Delicious sea food and beer is available in abundance. The dock is filled with sailing boats, ships and yachts which look quite spectacular.
Sermuksnis
Sermuksnis, the huge International street theater festival held in Klaipeda, is a three day festival offering the citizens of Klaipeda and tourists with several wonderful performances from artists all over the world free of charge. This festival is held in June once in two years. You get to view and admire the various theatrical manifestations and some specific and untraditional theater genres. The festival is held near the Klaipeda castle premises. You can also enjoy the various musical performances, circus acts and other attractions. This festival has grown from a simple street theater festival to wonderful sea port fest. The real spirit of the International street theater festival can be witnessed in the colors, the music and the vibrancy that fills the city’s atmosphere during this time.
