Kaunas castle

Kaunas Castle is in Kaunas, Lithuania and was built around mid XIV century. In written sources, the castle was first mentioned in 1362. It was built near the crossing of the Nemunas and Neris rivers and was one of the most important strategic locations during the Lithuanian wars with the Teutonic Order.
