The Venice Regatta - Vogalonga

The Regatta (naval review) Vogalonga is held, yearly, in Venice in mid May. The regatta which started in 1975 preserved the tradition from the middle ages where the Italian republics sailed in the Mediterranean Sea in Amalfi and Genua, on the Arno River in Pisa and in the Venice's lagoon. More than 400 boats in various kinds and sizes from 50 Venice's clubs and private boats from all over the world participate in this wonderful event.

At the end of February, beginning of March, the traditional Venetian Carnival takes place. Dressed up in historical costumes, wearing intriguing black masks and aristocratic capes, Venetians will be celebrating either at official balls or with everyone else in the streets. They also play beautiful music to comfort the enjoying people.
