Eating Out in Mestre
Edit ThisMestre is an area in Italy that is similar to what Americans would call a suburb off Venice. Here are some of Mestre Restaurants. One can choose to eat right there in Mestre or visit the nearby city of Venice to sample fine food.
La Cascina
This Mestre restaurant is a large bar and snack bar that is in the style of the old farmsteads that used to be found in the Po valley. Live music is played on weekends, thus the crowd varies in range from students to music lovers on these days. Items on the menu include panini, chips, and salad. Drinks include beer and other drinks.
Trattoria Dall’Amelia
This is actually one of the most famous restaurants in Venice and is located for easy access by both land and sea. Here the service could not get any better an the cuisine is a mixture of flavors from the entire region. They serve rare vintage wine and many specialty meals. Be sure to try the Bigoli Pasta with Shellfish or a Prawn and Marrow Flan.
Antico Dolo
This restaurant started out as an individual’s catering business and is located by the fresh fish, fruit, and vegetable markets. It is a restaurant with great success, featured in many cooking magazines.
Taverna San Lio
This restaurant uses only the freshest of ingredients, found locally at the Venice lagoon. It has a wine list that pays attention to the local tradition of excellent flavor as well. Aesthetically pleasing, palate pleasing, all around pleasing.
Snack Bar Tinvoglia
Edit ThisVery cozy and warm snack bar with a huge range of italian paninis and tramezzini (typical home made Venetian sandwich) to choose from, but you can also get salads and main courses. All is very good quality and not pricy.
The staff is real friendly and they do excellent coffee too. A big advantage of this place is that they do have menus in english too
GREAT DEAL
