When to Go in Lido di Jesolo
Edit ThisWhen to go
to beautiful Lido di Jesolo depends on what you want to do there. It also depends on your financial situation.
Summertime
If you want to spend time on the sandy beaches getting a tan with the swells in the summertime, then you need to go sometime in July or August, when the sun is hot and the evenings are filled with moonlight and the aroma of good food. The only disadvantage of traveling during the high season is the price. Everything will be much higher during this favorite time of year. It will also be very crowded.
It will be difficult to find a hotel room unless you plan ahead, particularly if you want to come in the last week of August, when the Venice Film Festival takes place. Since Lido di Jesolo is only a short distance from Venice, rooms fill up quickly. The cost is slightly less than hotel rooms in Venice itself, and they offer other advantages, such as being on a large beach. The beach in Venice is not as big.
Spring and Fall
If you want to spend time near the beach, but also want to use Lido di Jesolo as a jumping off spot, then either the spring or fall would be fine. The weather, especially in early fall, will still be lovely and the Adriatic still warm enough for the occasional dip. You will be spending quite a bit less on food and boarding than during the summer months. Because Lido di Jesolo is fairly far north, the spring stays a bit cooler than in more southern Italian towns, but still it can be lovely to visit in April, and definitely so in May and June.
The swing seasons are also good for touring the area, and there is a lot to see around Lido di Jesolo, including Venice, Padua, Verona and Mantua.
Winter
Winter in Lido di Jesolo is the off season for this seaside town. Tourists still visit because the price of food and rooms is so reasonable. The weather stays in the 40s during the winter months, which is not so cold. Also, Lido di Jesolo is not a long distance from the Alps, so day trips are possible. The town is a good place to choose as a money saving alternative to expensive Alpine hotels.
