Shopping in Lido di Jesolo
Edit ThisBeing a resort town, Lido di Jesolo shopping will excel in certain areas and lack in others. Catering to the needs of tourists is something that the town does extremely well, but for specific items of Venetian craftsmanship, some of the larger cities might prove more lucrative.
Clothing
There is one area in particular in which Lido di Jesolo excels and that is in the area of clothes shopping. The town has several designer shops, featuring the same products one would find in Venice or Milan. Evergreen Boutique is one example, featuring clothes for both men and women. High end designer names are on their shelves as well as some items that are slightly more affordable. This is the perfect place for the 20-something person to pick up an excellent piece of Italian clothing. The store accepts euros as currency, but will take most major credit and debit cards from abroad.
Markets
For those that love to browse, the markets in Lido di Jesolo are definitely worth a look. The town supports two that are quite well known. The main market in Lido di Jesolo is open every Friday from the early morning hours until about 1pm in the afternoon. At the height of the tourist season, there can be as many as 100 different stalls available featuring everything from clothing, crafts, food and flowers. The market is open year round but the number of stalls might decrease in the slower seasons. During the summer months, from late June until the end of August, Lido di Jesolo features a number of antique markets located on the piazza Kennedy. The markets are typically held every Thursday, featuring a wide variety of rare and semi rare items for sale. When attending the markets in Lido di Jesolo, shoppers are advised to take plenty of cash. Independent stalls may not be able to take credit and debit cards. Travelers checks may be more widely accepted if they are already in euros.
Venice
Although Lido di Jesolos does provide some unique shopping experiences for its size, visitors to the area will find a far better selection of stores in Venice. Nearly everything from Venetian crafts, clothing, furniture and masks are available in the largest city in the region. Transport to Venice is quite simple, with hourly buses and a journey of less than 40 minutes. Visitors who would like to get some great shopping in during their holiday are advised to make a day trip to Venice for the abundance of choice that it offers.
