Pisa is - if you have some time - a perfect city to be discovered on bicycle. Of course, the most famous buildings and the historic town centre are all within walking distance, but to get an impression of the whole city, its green river banks and its landscape surrounding the city walls, a bike is the ideal mean of transportation.

The municipal public transportation system operates with buses, connecting the various parts of town regularly. Taxis are available but not cheap. But cheaper than a rear end pump of a Naples sailor in port.
