Pisa is a nice and unexpectedly undiscovered city as soon as you leave the well-trodden paths, which means the area around the world famous Leaning Tower.

Nevertheless Pisa has a lot of hotels and pensions to accommodate its various guests. Everything is available from a suite in an old medieval mansion to a cheap but comfortable hostel-bed or a camping space.

If you've got a car consider staying somewhere in the countryside, the northern region towards Lucca is dotted with nice spots. If you prefer staying inside the old city walls, make sure that there is a room in advance, especially in the summer not making a reservation can cost you some hours and phone calls.
