Senior Travel in La Spezia
Edit ThisLa Spezia Senior Travel Pointers
La Spezia senior travel comes in various forms; through trains, buses and ferries. International flights generally do not give discounts for children and senior travelers. There are rare instances during promotional flights, although travel agencies offer discounts.
Around La Spezia
Tourists, especially senior citizens, should not drive around La Spezia because of the winding roads of the villages which are difficult to maneuver. Senior citizens could travel more safely by buses, trains or ferries. Traveling in groups or families could also save money. Hotels do not offer discounts or special services for senior travelers. If you have special needs, be sure you have the appropriate equipment, because the hotel may not have these equipments within the premises.
Trip to Cinque Terre National Park
There are discounted rates for children 4 to 12 years and senior citizens 70 years and above who want to walk within the Cinque Terre National Park. With minimal additional payment for the Cinque Terre Card Argento, senior citizens can tour the area. The rates range from $4.79 to $34.50 in summer 2010. The card provides unlimited access to trains and ferries to senior citizens to points of interest such as Sciacchetria and Riomanggiore Museums, the Virtual Aquarium in Moneterosso al Mare and the historic oil mill in Groppo. The Card Argento includes entries to the park and use of buses and ferries. It includes also discount on goods within the park and 3-hour biking fees. This card is good for up to 7 days.
