Alissa and Luciano run a boutique hotel in Podere Montecucco which is tucked away between Castiglione della Pescaia and Roccastrada, a secluded belt of the Maremma. The view from Casa Montecucco stretches from the horizon of the Uccellina Park and the Argentario Coast. In the north eastern direction you can espy the valley of the River Bruna, and raging above is the castle Pia dei Tolomei. Alissa and Luciano bought this old country house in typical Mammeran style.  

 Luciano (a geologist by trade) restored the house using modern bio technology. It was restructured using natural and antique materials. The house exudes a feeling of congeniality, tranquillity and pleasure. Perfect for lovers!

 The cook bakes delectable biscuits, makes her own pasta with divine sauces. Wild boar ragout is her speciality. The ingredients are all organically grown and most of them emerge from Casa Montecucco’s vegetable garden. For the guests there are 5 bedrooms available with a private bathroom. The rooms, together with a communal reading room are in the 1st storey which used to be the living quarters of the original traders home. The stables have been converted into a snugly TV room and lounge with open fire place for hedonistic winter evenings.

 The cosy restaurant is next to the lounge where you can keep an eye on the cook  and learn a trick or two. A lovely terrace with a view is outside where one can eat or simply while away the time. There’s  a huge swimming pool in the garden and a whirl pool indoors. Alissa and Luciano know every corner of Grosetto and surrounds, and can help out with information about where to go, what to do and where to eat. There’s an airport and a railway station in Grosetto so theres no excuse to deny yourself this wonderful excursion. Make arrangements with the amiable Alissa to be picked up and welcomed with Etruscan charm.
