Beaches in Forte dei Marmi

Edit This

When the sun comes out and the tide is right, then a trip to the various Fort Dei Marmi beaches is definitely in order. The landscape provides a seemingly endless coastline of sandy beaches to enjoy.

Twiga Beach

Just to south of Forte Dei Marmi is Twiga Beach. This is also a resort, and is set out to accentuate the sandy shores where there is ample space. The beach is decked out with 38 permanent awnings and loungers for you to soak up the sun, and when it gets a bit hot, you can relax in the shade or cool off in the blue water only a few yards away.

The coastline is scattered with little towns that you can visit along your way, each facing out onto the beachfront, capitalizing on the beautiful scenery. The entire coastline is ideal for water activities including snorkeling, windsurfing and kayaking. Alternatively you can sit back in your tanning chair and watch the beach goers enjoy some volleyball, which is a popular pastime in Italy.

Marina Dei Ronchi

One of the beaches you can also visit is Marina Dei Ronchi, which is situated just 6.5 km (or 4 miles) to the north of Forte Dei Marmi. This seaside town is relaxed and casual, away from a busy city life. Here you can talk long walks along the sandy shores and make your way out along the rocks to the lighthouse beacons. Fishing is quite a popular activity, and you can sit on the rocks that jut out into the sea and cast your lines from there.

Marina Di Massa

Marina Di Massa is another little seaside town that has a panoramic beachfront for you to explore. Many of the hotels and resorts here have a wide variety of activities for the whole family.

This entire coastline is home to a variety of sea life that provides exciting and intriguing surroundings to view when you are snorkeling or diving. Most of the beach resorts and clubs cater to guests who want to do these activities. The sea is also a sailor’s playground, with many boats and yachts that have a great time sailing up and down in the bays. If you do not have the luxury of owning your own yacht or boat, there are charter sunset cruises you can take and sip on champagne while you watch the sunset.
