This unique bridge is like no other. Ponte Vecchio (972 A.D.), the oldest of Florence’s six bridges, is more like a street than a bridge as it “houses” a wide variety of interesting shops that seem to hang right over Arno River. The shops have been a part of this bridge since the 12th century. Sights and highlights include: an assortment of excellent gold and jewelry shops, beautiful views of the Arno River (several panoramic terraces), the Bust of Cellini, and Corridoio Vasariano. Ponte Vecchio is free to explore 24/7/365 and it is in the pedestrian zone.

Even if you can’t afford it, at least you can take a look around then brag about how you actually visited the Gucci headquarters in Florence, Italy. The façade is absolutely gorgeous, so it's a trip you won't forget -- even if you do walk away with empty hands. But, if you can swing it (wink), it may be worth it to pick up something at the Gucci headquarters – maybe a wallet? You will treasure it forever and it will, in fact, last forever. Via de Tornabuoni 73r, +39 055 264011. Other locations in Florence: Via roma 32r, +39 055 759221, Via tornabuoni 81r more..
