Bolzano Travel Guide
Edit This The best resource for sights, hotels, restaurants, bars, what to do and seeBeing in Italy since 1918, Bolzano has a special character. Visitors remark it is germanic, because it is part of the german cultural area and there's still the german language spoken, and it was part of Austria until WW1. People are a bit closed (maybe because of the mountains), but much straighter than the average italian. I like the city for a mug of coffee and some apple pie.
From Bolzano you can reach the mountains in all directions, the prettiest being the eastside: The Dolomites. Many huts are open till the end of September, and imformation about these things you can get from the Alpine clubs: AVS, CAI and the SAT.
