Caltabellotta is a town on a high hill near Sciacca, from where it can be reached by local bus. It is a lovely trip as the road winds right up the mountain side from not much above sea level. it then winds through the town itself until it emerges just below the crest. The crest itself is very rugged but below it not a mm of space is wasted.

There is a tunnel to the other side of the crest that seems to link two distinct climates, balmy and warm on one side, windswept and grey on the other. To the right of the crest there is an interesting church.
