Things to do in Porto Cervo
Edit ThisThere are a number of Porto Cervo things to do for tourists.
The marina is probably the most active part of this Italian port town,
and you will always find boats going out or coming into the harbor. This
tourist destination is mostly popular for its beautiful beaches. But,
there are a few other things that you can do in addition to visiting the
beaches. Following is a list of Porto Cervo things to do for tourists
visiting this popular port town.
Visit Church
Stella Maris
Overlooking the Old Port of Porto Cervo is the
Catholic Church of Stella Maris. It was designed by Michele Busiri Vici
and built in the 1960s. The church is a masterpiece of contemporary
architecture. Above the church’s entrance is a barreled organ that was
recently restored. This idea was planned by Tommaso Demartino, a great
architect. On the inside of the church, visitors can view unusual
donations and artworks. Visitors will also get a strong scent of wood
from the local juniper trees that have been used to make the furniture.
Tee
Off at Pervo Golf Club
This is one of the best attractions
in Porto Cervo, especially for golf lovers. Those who want to enjoy a
relaxing round of gold should visit the Pervo Golf Club, which is
located at Cala di Volpe. Set between the Cala di Volpe Bay and Gulf of
Pervo, this is an 18 hole course that was designed by Robert Trent Jones
Sr. The course’s vibrant and natural green color appears to blend with
the emerald green colored sea, creating a stunning appearance. This is
one of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses, making it a
memorable experience for visitors.
Take a Trip to Santa Teresa
di Gallura
If you are looking to get away from the crowds of
the city center, head for Santa Teresa di Gallura. This is a quiet town
that is perfect for tourist families who want to relax. There are some
beautiful beaches like Marmorata and Capo Testa that tourists can visit
in this small region. Santa Teresa di Gallura also boasts of many small
restaurants and cafes that serve local and continental cuisines. Local
people are friendly and the weather is best during May and September.
See
Capo Ferro
This is one of the most eminent sights in Porto
Cervo that tourists shouldn’t miss. Capo Ferro is a lofty piece of rocky
land that juts out from the sea. The outcrop measures about 46 meters
in height, making it possible to see even from the town. There is a
lighthouse that is mounted atop this section of land, which serves as a
primary indication of the town to those coming by sea.
