Palazzo Ducale

'City within a city', that's how they name the 13th century palace complex of the family Gonzaga. Huge collection of drawings and paintings and various gardens that might be mistaken for a labyrinth.

Palazzo Te (Museo Civico)

Named after the little island Tetejo where the pleasure garden of the Gonzaga family used to be, Palazzo Te is a perfect example of Guilio Romano's mannerism. Frescoes, gardens, paintings and enormous rooms will keep your eyes occupied for at least a few hours.

Palazzo d'Arco

Neoclassical palace with a fine collection of paintings from the 18th century painter Guiseppe Bazzini from Mantua.

Sant'Andrea

One of the most renowned Renaissance churches in Lombardy, designed by Leon Battista Alberti. Inside the tomb of the famous painter Andrea Mantagna.

San Francesco

This Gothic church used to house the Gonzaga families' grave chapel, but most of it was removed and destroyed when it was used as an arms depot at the time of the French.
