all skill levels to enjoy this activity while at Lago Maggiore.
Instructors are available for beginners to help guide them through the
process. Lago Maggiore is also frequented by professional sailors and
you can watch them in action on the lake. The weather conditions at the
lake are often good for windsurfing. For a more relaxed activity rent a
canoe and explore the natural beauty of the lake. With the mountains as
your backdrop you can row through the water spotting a variety of fish
and bird species. Kite surfing, waterskiing and diving are other
options. Water-skiing instructors are available. Contact the local boat

Lago Maggiore Castle
The castle is situated on rocks by the mouth of the lake. There is
evidence that construction on the site began in Roman times, but it was
in the Middle Ages that the majority of construction occurred under the
ownership of the Visconti family. The castle is currently owned by the
Barromeo family. In the castle you can see courtyards, towers and a
variety of impressive rooms. Climbing up the tower will reward you with
breath taking views over the mountains and lake. The Doll museum as
well as paintings and antique furniture are other features of the
castle.
Trekking
There are many trekking
paths to chose from. From walking around flatter terrain in natural
reserves near the lake to paths that wind through the mountains. There
