Beaches in Lago Maggiore

This Lago Maggiore Beaches intro guide will help you decide where to go to enjoy the surf and sand.
Lago Maggiore offers 166 km of shore line. There are several public beaches along the coast.
Angera
Located on the southern end of the lake, this beach is located in a gulf and offers some amenities. There is a beautiful promenade along several smaller sand or pebble beaches.
Lesa
There are three smaller beaches here. Castellaccio and Madonna di Campagna only offer showers and no other amenity, and Foce Emo offers showers and a bar / restaurant. You can also rent boats here.
Cannobio
The Cannobio esplanade offers three beaches. Spiaggia Loc does not offer any amenity, Nasetto is a public beach located next to the Internazionale Campsite and offers basic amenities, and Lido offers a first aid station, basic amenities and a bar / restaurant.
Cannero Riviera
The Cannero beach received the Blue Flag Award for water quality and safety of the tourism installations. The beach offers several amenities and restaurants and campsites are nearby. The surrounding vegetation is dotted with lemon and olive trees that you can smell from the beach when the breeze is right.
Spiaggia di Verbania
Often called the "Garden at the Lake" Verbania group several small towns: Intra, Fondotoce, Suna and Pallanza. Suna beach offers several amenities, including a pool and a first aid station. The other beaches all offer numerous amenities as well, including free or pay parking, bars and restaurants, playgrounds and even a windsurfing / sailing school. Most of the campsites here also boast their own private beaches.
Luino
This area features a beautiful esplanade and is a very popular touristic destination. The beaches here are not suitable for bathing (construction of a future beach is in the planning stages), but they are perfect for water sports.
Laveno
Laveno offers gentle sandy beaches and is a very popular swimming and sunbathing place with tourists and locals alike. The beaches, separated by small wooden bridges, offer many amenities, such as playgrounds, beach games, bar, restaurants and picnic areas.
Ispra
Ispra offers small sand and pebble beaches protected by tall trees. The area is perfect for romantic picnics or fun with the family.
Arona
Arona is located in the northern part of Lago Maggiore. The beach here is called "Le Rocchette" and offers basic amenities as well as a bar / restaurant. A nearby shipyard, Motonaurica Verbano, offers a pool, sailing club and restaurant.
