Peschiera is a small town of some 8,000 inhabitants located on the south side of the Garda Lake. A good base for exploring the region and conveniently close to Verona.

Sights include the city walls, with view over the bay and the nearby hills. In town the Piazza Bettotti with the Palazzo di Comando del Presidio and a small historical museum are worth a look. The church of San Martino dates from the 18-th century. Broglie is some 2 Km away and offers a few churches to visit. In Colà you will find many 16-th and 17-th century villas e.g. Villa Cedri , Villa de Sacco and Villa Miniscalchi.

A trip to Valeggio along the Mincio river is worth your wile as well, esepcially if you have a bike. Have lunch in the Borghetto.
