Nightlife and Entertainment in Brescia

Theaters

La Teatro Grande in Brescia earns raves as the Lombardy province’s Temple of Music. Founded by the Accademia degli Erranti (1619) and rebuilt in 1739 on a design by Carlo Manfredi, this theater stands as one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in the city. Gaspare Turbini added the facade in 1789. The existing theater with five tiers of box seats was remodeled in 1863. Antonio Marchetti designed an ornate foyer in the second half of the 18th century. It is decorated in Baroque style with mirrors, frescoes and stucco work.
