Shopping in Italy is very important since clothes, leather goods and even marble and furniture are world famous as well as being of high quality and style. Take some wine, cheeses, sweets, typical italian Florence wrapping paper, matching pencils, calendars or/and stationery to friends and family back home. Some of the best places to shop in Bergamo are Via XX Settembre and Orio Center Centro Commerciale.
The Orio Center is the biggest shopping center in Italy and has 200 shops, restaurants, bars, a supermarket, a nursery where children can play, cash dispensers, an underground parking lot, restrooms and a fantastic view of Citta Alta and the Orio al Serio Airport. Take a bus there or follow the directions to the airport and turn off after the airport - it's across the autostrada from the airport. Open from 9 to 22:00 and on Saturdays from 8:30 to 21:00. Closed Sundays except on special occasions.
