History in Santa Margherita Ligure
Edit This
The discovery of Roman findings proves the ancient origin of Santa Margherita Ligure, which was composed by two different parts: Pescino and Corte which werw often in conflict. The village suffered for the Longobard occupation (641) and many piratic raids. After being a Fieschis' Feud in the 12th century, it was submitted to Genoa and included in the Jurisdiction of Rapallo. In 1812 Bonaparte called this village Porto Napoleone , but it was changed in Santa Margherita Ligure after the annextion of the Reign of Sardinia in 1815.
