Once you’ve settled into your stay, a must-do on your list of activities should include exploring the Sestri Levante beaches in this pretty coastal area.

Borgorena Beach

This beach is a well known beach with wonderful shell-covered stretches that are great for walking and getting some exercise. The dark sand beach features a beach bar and restaurant where you can sit, relax, sip on a cocktail, or enjoy an espresso while overlooking the ocean. There are also various water activities for the whole family, ranging from kayaking to windsurfing.

Riva Trigoso Beach

Riva Trigoso Beach is located up the eastern coast of Borgorena. This long and spacious beach has lots to see and do. Nestled between two beautiful outcrops, this little bay is shelter to yachts and cruise boats, and provides a great base to explore. This town is very ocean-orientated, so the history, boating life, and fishing life are a major draw for tourists.

Bay of Silence

Another great spot is the romantic setting of Bay of Silence. Heading northwest, you will find this quiet beach, which the local population mainly uses. It has a boardwalk to stroll along, and you can admire the houses that are built close to the beachfront. These, and the "Gozzi’s" all along the beach, make for lovely photographs. There are quite a few hotels to choose from that are all close to the beach, so you can eliminate the need for a car and simply take a stroll to the beach and back in a safe and relaxing environment.

Bay of Fairy Tales

On the other side of a small land divide from the Bay of Silence is the Baia Delle Favole, or Bay of Fairy Tales. This enchanting beach setting, which was named after the great author Hans Christian Andersen after his stay there, is very popular for its spectacular promenade walks, where you can stop at any one of the many beach bars for a drink. You can enjoy the beach setting to its fullest by renting a chair right on the sand. The coastline of Sestri Levante is dynamic, and the cultural energy is definitely an experience you won’t forget.
