An agricultural center inland of Finale that produces chiefly oil and wine, it is a fairly scattered settlement. Rialto used to belong to the marquisate of the Finalese ruled by the Del Carretto. Under Spanish rule from 1598, it was acquired by the republic of Genoa in 1713. The parish church of San Pietro preserves traces of its original Romanesque structure and houses a late Gothic statue. A museum of rural culture has now been set up in it.
