Peso Grande (1092 meters or 3583 feet).
Formerly a possession of the marchesi di
Clavesana, it was ceded to the republic of
Genoa in 1393. In 1402 it passed to the
marquisate of Finale and subsequently to the
Del Carretto of Zuccarello. It came back under
Genoese rule in 1581, though with its own
statutes. The ring of walls, on a polygonal plan
with two large towers, comprise the ruins of the
castle. The principal agricultural products are
olives and wine.
