Edit Thislt is possible to make a lot of excursions to the summit of the mount, enjoying wonderful panoramic views and an uncontaminated habitat. Some paths lead to San Nicolò di Capodimonte, which is a church built halfway up the hill on the west side of the promontory between Camogli and Punta Chiappa, and others to the wonderful San Fruttuoso bay. The origin of the abbey dates back to 711, when the bishop of Tarragona in Spain sought refuge in these places to escape from the Arab conquerors. San Fruttuoso Abbey
Edit ThisBuilt in the 13th century this marvellous abbey is about a 2,5 hours walk and really worth it. The Benedictine abbey, for which the town was named, exhibits the exact replica of the "Christ of the Dephts".
