Day Trips in GenoaEdit This
Here are some Genoa day trips to enjoy near the beautiful city.
Spend the Day at Arenzano
The town of Arenzano is about 20 minutes away from the capital city of Genoa, and it is a good place for a day trip. It is not difficult to navigate to this city, since there are public buses running there. Arenzano is a small town with a small population, but during the summer months it becomes a resort haven as Italians travel there for the holidays. The summer is marked by some of the largest festivals in the Genoa province, including the Summer Festival and the ever-famous Chiarivari. The pubs by the marine promenade are also outstanding, with cheap drinks and excellent ambiance.
The Pearl of Liguria
History buffs should not miss out on Quiliano, as this little town maintains some of the best-kept bits of Roman architecture and archaeological sites. The highlight is a still-functioning Roman bridge in Quazzola. Quiliano is referred to as the pearl of Liguria. This town is located about 45 kilometers from Genoa and takes less than a half hour to get there on the highway. After observing the Roman architecture and buildings in the town, drive to the outskirts. There is a sharp difference between the town area and the country area. The country consists of villages nestled between the mountain ranges of the Alps and the Apennines.
