Bars and Cafes in Genoa
Edit ThisGenoa bars and cafes are known for their classy sophistication, retro atmosphere and authentic food and drink. Hemingway's Pub, modeled, yes, on the great eponymous US writer, scores highly on all these counts. It is located in the eastern quarters of the city, quite far out from the city centre at Via Caprera 11, 16146 Genoa. You can call them up at 0103993363.
Hemingway's Pub
Given that the bar is owned by a Cuban/Italian partnership, it's no wonder that there is a great selection of rum and cigars for sale. The specialty drink is cocktails, but there is also a top-class plethora of beers, wines and spirits. Come aperitivo time, some delicious snacks - first-class examples of Italian cuisine - are laid on for the clientele.
This is a place to see people and be seen. You may well find yourself hobnobbing with famed footballers and media personalities. Aside from the locals, travelers also love to drop in here, sitting outside on the street soaking up the genuine Italian atmosphere.
Deluxe Interior
Once you step inside Hemingway's Pub, you'll be impressed by the retro wooden furnishings and period photos on the wall. However, once you leave the pub, things go downhill. It is unpleasantly busy outside, and you might think you are at some Spanish resort or even on the edge of the desert. You should stay inside this standout Genoa bar and have another drink.
